Biographical Information:
At Longfields Elementary School in Forestville, school improvement resource teacher Anthony E. Whittington helped inspire children of all nationalities to realize their dreams. He created an innovative teaching technique called "Incorrect, Try Again!" which breeds confidence and ultimately success in his students. As site coordinator for Longfields Elementary School's 21st Century Extended Day/Summer Academic & Enrichment Program, Mr. Whittington helped students meet local and state academic standards in subjects such as reading and math. He leads professional development seminars for teachers on using data to improve student learning and conducting data analysis for continuous school improvement. Under his leadership, the school's Maryland School Assessment (MSA) data improved. Mr. Whittington also works with Johns Hopkins University and partner Howard University in their Center for Research on the Education of Students Placed at Risk (CRESPAR). He currently is Regional Resource Teacher for Prince George's Regional Office III.
