President's Day Holiday


Tuesday, February 18
2 p.m. – UTeach Grant Celebration, Adele H. Stamp Student Union, Prince George’s Room, University of Maryland, College Park, MD 20742
The National Math + Science Initiative recently announced that the University of Maryland was awarded a grant to implement the UTeach program on campus.  The program is designed to develop more teachers in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields.  Dr. Lowery will join other speakers, including University President Wallace Loh, in celebrating UTeach coming to College Park.


Wednesday, February 19

Thursday, February 20
9 a.m. – Interagency Committee on School Construction meeting, 200 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, 21201, 8th Floor, Conference Room 1.

6 p.m. – Black History Month Reception, Government House, 110 State Circle, Annapolis, MD  21401
Dr. Lowery will attend the reception along with Governor O’Malley and other dignitaries.


Friday, February 21
1 p.m. – Budget Hearing – Funding for Education Organizations, 3 West, Miller Senate Office Building, Annapolis, MD 21401
Dr. Lowery will take part in the budget hearing.
