MSDE Experts Will Take Questions

Baltimore, MD (April 20, 2015)

The Maryland State Department of Education will host a Twitter Chat on Thursday, April 23, with MSDE specialists responding to questions about financial literacy education.

All Maryland schools have been offering a program in financial literacy in grades 3-12 since 2011.  Each program is aligned with the Maryland Personal Financial Literacy Standards that can be found here.

Perhaps more than ever before, high school graduates must be financially literate in order to be prepared for college, careers, and responsible living.  The standards are designed to help students make sound decisions on finances, understand the connection between career and future income, and how to better manage money.

Twitter followers @MdPublicSchools are encouraged to ask questions and participate in the discussion using the hashtag, #MSDEChat.
