The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) will host a live Twitter chat next week, featuring mathematics educator Jonathan Wray of Howard County Public Schools along with MSDE curriculum experts.
The chat is planned for Wednesday evening to explore the new Maryland College and Career Ready Standards for mathematics, based on the Common Core adopted by Maryland in 2010. The July Twitter chat will focus on ideas and resources parents can use to help their children succeed on homework and in the classroom.
Wray is the Secondary Mathematics Instructional Facilitator for the Howard County Public School System and is serving a three-year term as member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and is a past president of the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM).
