WHAT: The Summer FAME Leadership Institute. FAME (Formative Assessment for Maryland Educators) is a year-long program aimed at strengthening student learning through the formative assessment process. The Summer Institute offers an opportunity for school leadership to receive intensive instruction in formative assessment.
Formative assessment is a tool used by teachers and students during instruction that provides feedback to adjust instruction and improve achievement. Formative assessment is not a single type of test, but a process for continuous improvement in the teaching and learning process.
