The audience will have a chance to discuss and ask questions about the Standards. The first Regional Back to School Forum will be on the Eastern Shore.
These Forums are intended to provide parents and the public-at-large an understanding of the Common Core initiative. These Standards establish a rigorous set of shared goals and expectations for what students should understand and be able to do in grades K-12 in order to be prepared for success in college and the workplace. The Common Core State Standards form the foundation for Maryland's new State curriculum, which is being implemented in all Maryland schools this school year.
