Interim State Superintendent of Schools Jack R. Smith will welcome educators to the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE) in Baltimore on Monday.
In addition, Dr. Marcella Franczkowski, Assistant State Superintendent for the Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services, will provide a keynote address on Sunday, October 4 at 10:45 a.m., “Beyond Compliance: Implementing Systems Change in Maryland for Improved Outcomes.” Franczkowski will share Maryland’s strategic work to engage families and to impact results that narrow the gap for children with disabilities. Central to her message will be a call for innovative approaches, collaborative partnerships, and shared resources to meet the needs of all learners.
NASDSE’s 77th Annual Conference is taking place under the theme, “Navigating the Changing Landscape for Improved Outcomes.” Nearly 300 educational leaders from across the state and nation are expected to attend.
