Baltimore, MD (October 7, 2014)

Senior federal officials will join State and local leaders tomorrow at schools in Anne Arundel, Howard, and Montgomery Counties, as the U.S. Department of Education’s Green Strides “Healthy Schools-High Achieving Students” Tour concludes with a visit to Maryland. 

The tour stops will focus on the three pillars of the Green Ribbon Schools program: conservation of energy and water, healthy schools and grounds, and environmental literacy and sustainability.  Officials speak with educators and students, as well as tour facilities.

Senior officials from the White House, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will join U.S. Department of Education staff on the visits.
